Al Medy is situated within King Abdul Aziz historical center. The objective of this project was to show that modern architecture could potentially be constructed from the ancient material of stabilized soil. The Aga Khan Award for Architecture was awarded to this project, which was commissioned by the Royal Commission for Riyadh Saudi Arabia. This mosque can have more than five hundred believers in it, at one time. In this mosque, Friday sermons are delivered in English.
